AYANNA A. GLAZE

Business Development Manager

A Business Development Manager and a California native, Ayanna graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Political Science.  Ayanna took full advantage of her college experience by interning for Georgia Legislator Arnold Ragas and the securities Law Firm of Gunderson, Dettmer, Stough in Palo Alto, CA.

Ayanna’s professional career began as an underwriter with Atlanta Casualty followed by a five-year position with State Farm Insurance as a property claim adjuster. While at State Farm, she chaired the 2002 State Farm Day at the Capital as well as worked on several other projects under the State Farm Legislative Outreach Committee. Ayanna also worked with Human Resources to initiate a charter program for orientation of prospective new State Farm Claim Representatives to increase employee retention. She worked closely with Public Affairs to coordinate a 2nd grade teacher assistant program in a low-income area for 3 years. During the last two years of the teacher assistant program, Jr. Achievement became incorporated into the program. Ayanna was also instrumental when the Southern Region of State Farm decided to diversify by becoming a charter member with a division of an emerging markets group and by sponsoring minority group events such as career fairs and sporting events.

While working at State Farm, Ayanna co-chaired State Farm Legislative Day at the Capitol and was extremely active on the Legislative committee.  She also coordinated and recruited volunteers for nonprofit and company-supported programs.  These extracurricular activities led Ayanna to the next phase in her insurance career by creating her own company, A. Glaze Marketing.

In 2004, Ayanna started A. Glaze Marketing with the purpose of assisting small businesses in expanding and understanding their markets. She contracted with Elite Diamond Import to utilize her insurance and public relations expertise to Elite to fine-tune their insurance replacement services as well as increase visibility and market share. During her employment with Elite Diamond Import, her desire to make a difference in her community had become more evident. Ayanna made a difference as an ambassador with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, as well as the President of the Northeast Atlanta Chapter for the National Association of Insurance Women, and the Vice President for Marketing Insurance Claim Association.

Ayanna continued her business marketing restoration dry cleaning, independent adjusting services, SIU Services, as well as surveillance services before returning to claims in a corporate structure all while continuing to participate in the above associations.

In 2007 as a Georgia licensed adjuster, Ayanna expanded her claims career by handling general liability claims and adding Worker’s Compensations knowledge as a Claims Analyst for Arby’s Restaurant Group. This role provided the knowledge and expertise in managing customer claims, appeals, and escalations.  A record of over 90+% of all company-owned Arby’s in-house claims, with a nominal settlement, keeping the customer happy and reducing Arby’s overall claims exposure.  From her claims handling experience, Ayanna created reporting procedures to record the trending results and reduced claims exposure.

Ayanna returned to a human resources position in Corporate America after taking a leave of absence to get married and have a family.   She handled retirement and death claims for the gas company until her job was eliminated by the acquisition of Southern Company.  With a strong insurance background, Ayanna jumped right back into marketing in the insurance industry with Shepherd Professional Investigations.
